OLYMPIA
PAGETURNERS BEGINS IN SEPTEMBER
Pageturners
begins September 3rd with "The Dante Club" by Matthew Pearl.
A literary mystery, "The Dante Club" is about a group of 19th
century Bostonians who decide to tranlate Dante's Inferno for an American
audience. While doing so they find themselves on the trail of a serial
killer who mimics the tortures found in the Inferno. The second choice,
"The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time," will be
discussed October 1st. An autistic teen is falsely accused of killing
his neighbor's dog. He decides to find the real killer in spite of his
handicap. What emerges is not only the solution to the mystery but insight
into how his mind works. The selection for November 5th is "Random
Family: Love, Drugs, Trouble and Coming of Age in the Bronx." The
title describes the subject matter of this 10 year study by journalist
Adrian LeBlanc. The Pageturner meetings are the 1st Friday of the month
from 10:00a.m. to noon.
