NEW
ART WORK AT LIBRARY
The
Friends of the Olympia Timberland Library Board accepted a bronze
sculpture, “The Music Maker,” from local artist Benedetto
A. Farsaci. The gnome-like brass figure is about 8” tall
and is playing the bag pipes. Mr. Farsaci told the Board that
his objective is “to utilize my talent, education and experience
to teach others the joy of creating art.”
He has received many awards for his work. The Board voted to donate
the sculpture to the Olympia Timberland Library.
The
Olympia Timberland Library was chosen as one of the sites in downtown
Olympia to display a salmon sculpture. The large replica of a
salmon is located at the 8th and Franklin entry to the library
parking lot. Artist Andrea Wilbur-Sigo, was at the library September
21st talking about how she created the salmon sculpture.
